Paul Hegarty has stepped down as manager of Finn Harps citing private and personal reasons, the club announced today.

James Gallagher has agreed to take on the role for an initial interim period, with immediate effect.

Chairman of Finn Harps Derek Wilkinson in a statement thanked Hegarty for his contribution to the club over the years.

"Anyone who knows Paul knows that his commitment to Harps was wholehearted and unstinting," Wilkinson said.

"We wish Paul and his family well in the future."

"I would like to thank everybody who gave me the opportunity to manage Finn Harps," commented Hegarty.

"I wish the club all the best for the future."
