Amond brace seals points for Dubs

Padraig Amond scored twice inside four minutes as Shamrock Rovers moved up into clear fourth place in the table.

Striker Amond opened the scoring on 25 minutes with a close-range tap-in.

Topscorer Gary Twigg then set up Amond with a clever backheel to add the second.

Shane Robinson sealed the three points from a 70th-minute penalty after he was brought down by Conor O’Grady.

Sligo skipper O’Grady was then sent off five minutes later for kicking Pat Flynn.

Home striker Stephen Parkhouse was then deprived a consolation goal when his 81st-minute penalty was saved by Barry Murphy.
