Giggs strike gives United half-time lead

The evergreen Ryan Giggs edged Manchester United closer to the Premier League title with a cool finish at Middlesbrough.

The Wales international fired the visitors ahead with 25 minutes gone as he claimed just his second league goal of the season.

United did not have it all their own way with Jeremie Aliadiere going close for relegation-haunted Boro, but United controlled much of the opening 45 minutes.
