Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce made two changes from the side beaten by Stoke last weekend as his side looked to take a giant stride towards Barclays Premier League survival with victory over Wigan at Ewood Park.

Allardyce drafted in Tugay and Vince Grella for Aaron Mokoena and Keith Andrews respectively and, with striking options still limited by injuries, there was a chance big defender Chris Samba could start again up front.

Wigan boss Steve Bruce also made two changes after his side’s home drubbing by Arsenal last week. Charles N’Zogbia and Lee Cattermole replaced Michael Brown and Mario Melchiot as the Latics sought their first ever top-flight win at Rovers.
