Bennion likely to start for Dundalk
Dundalk will be looking to get back to winning ways when they take on Cork City at Oriel Park in tonight’s Premier Division clash, kick-off 7.45pm
Simon Kelly is out of Sean Connor’s side as he serves a suspension, although Chris Bennion is likely to start in goal having missed last week’s league game through illness.
Thomas Heary, Tiernan Mulvenna, Liam Burns and Declan O’Brien are also carrying knocks and may miss out for the visit of City.
Shaun Kelly is another doubt for the home side as he is carrying an injury, while Michael Collins remains unregistered and cannot play.
Stephen O’Donnell remains sidelined for Cork as he is recovering from a knee injury, while Neal Horgan dislocated his elbow against the Kerry League and is likely to be out for around five weeks.
Robert Mezeckis played in the Kerry game, but will not feature, as he is struggling with an Achilles injury.
City boss Paul Doolin said: “Dundalk will not be an easy game for us. I’m quite happy with how things are going, but it’s still early in the season and we are on a decent run of four wins and a draw in five games.
“If we can pick up a win, it would be fantastic. It certainly will not be easy, but we have to go there looking for the three points.”
