Bray missing Pender

Derek Pender will miss out when Bray Wanderers take on Derry City tonight at the Carlisle Grounds, kick-off 7.45pm.

The former Shamrock Rovers defender is still struggling with a knee injury, which is slow to respond to treatment.

The good news for Eddie Gormley is that he could have Paddy Kavanagh and Dave Mulcahy back as both players will undergo late fitness tests.

Gormley said: "Once again, last Friday, we had a good performance from the team.

“The ball didn't bounce our way, we hit the woodwork four times. We will have to be more clinical in front of goal, then we will start winning games.”

The visitors must plan without Clive Delaney, who has a back injury, and Gerard Doherty and Kevin Deery who are both struggling with knee injuries.

Assistant boss Alan Reynolds said: "We have to bounce back from the disappointment of Friday's defeat to Sligo Rovers.

“There is no doubt that Bray will provide stiff opposition, we suffered there last year.

“We spurned a few good chances last week, but at least we are still creating chances and that's a positive.”
