Laudrup sacked at Moscow

Spartak Moscow coach Michael Laudrup has been sacked after just seven months in charge.

The club have had a disappointing start to the Premier Liga season with just one win in four matches.

A 3-0 home defeat to Dinamo Moscow in the Russian Cup yesterday then sealed Laudrup’s fate.

“From this point onwards, head coach Michael Laudrup has been relieved of his responsibilities because of the unsatisfactory results,” said a statement from Spartak.

The 44-year-old Laudrup has previously had spells in charge of Brondby and Getafe, and was also assistant coach of the Danish national team.

Valeri Karpin has been handed the Spartak reins on an interim basis.
