Hamburg without defensive duo

Hamburg defenders Collin Benjamin and Guy Demel will miss the UEFA Cup quarter-final second leg at Manchester City tomorrow.

Both players have thigh problems and coach Martin Jol told the club’s website: “They will not make the trip.”

Skipper David Jarolim is available again after missing the 1-0 defeat to Stuttgart at the weekend through suspension.

Hamburg take a 3-1 lead into the second leg at Eastlands and Czech Republic midfielder Jarolim is quietly confident.

He said: “We have laid a good foundation, now we must remain focused if we are to reach the semi-final.”
