Declan Edwards was Galway’s matchwinner as they bounced back from their defeat to Bohemians midweek to move back up to third place in the table tonight.

Substitute Edwards struck for the only goal on 79 minutes when heading past Steve Williams from Derek O’Brien’s cross, his first goal for the club.

Substitute Mark Salmon wasted the chance of a late equaliser for Drogheda when shooting wide of an open goal.
