Cretaro strikes at the death for Sligo
Derry City 1 Sligo Rovers 2
Rafael Cretaro scored a minute from time tonight to end Derry’s unbeaten start to the season.
The sides swapped goals within a minute shortly before half-time.
Benin international Romu Boco scored with the help of a deflection from Owen Morrison’s pass to put Sligo in front on 39 minutes.
Within a 60 seconds, Gareth McGlynn levelled with a back post volley from Sammy Morrow’s cross.
Though Derry dominated, Cretaro won it to give Sligo a second victory on the spin on 89 minutes when punishing a defensive error to race clear from the halfway line and shoot past Ger Doherty.
