Shearer insists: Eight games only

Alan Shearer hopes Newcastle beg him to stay at St James’ Park beyond the end of the season – but only because that would mean he had saved them from relegation.

Magpies legend Shearer answered the club’s SOS this week and will attempt to steer them away from the Premier League relegation zone over the remaining eight games of the season.
