Wigan confirm stadium name change

Wigan have confirmed the JJB Stadium will be renamed the DW Stadium from August 1.

The announcement was made by chairman Dave Whelan and follows the launch of his new business, DW Sports Fitness.com.

Whelan said: “We have had some famous days here at the stadium if you think of all the great games that have been hosted since 1999. Now we can look forward to a whole new era as the DW Stadium.”
