Chris Turner scored two penalties as Dundalk earned their first win of the season in beating ten-man Drogheda in the first Louth league derby in eight years at Oriel Park.

Drogheda had Conor Kenna sent off on 15 minutes for handling Harpal Singh’s shot with Turner firing home the resultant penalty for his first goal of the night.

Darren Mansaram added Dundalk’s goal on 42 minutes when George O’Callaghan fed Singh to cross with the big striker bundling the ball home at the back post.

Within three minutes of second half, Turner scored again from the spot to seal the win after keeper Steve Williams pulled down former Drogheda skipper Declan O’Brien.
