Bohs win Dublin derby
Bohemians 2 Shamrock Rovers 0
Jason Byrne scored twice as champions Bohemians won a rip-roaring Dublin derby to stay second in the table.
Bohs came close through Gary Deegan and Byrne, while Rovers’ Stephen Bradley hit a post, in a lively opening before the home side took the lead on 16 minutes.
Rovers’ midfielder Stephen Rice scythed down Deegan inside the area and Byrne drove home the spot kick for his first goal of the season.
Bradley then hit a Bohs post again before half-time as the action continued apace.
But Bohs sealed their win with a stunning second goal on 63 minutes.
Joseph Ndo worked a one-two with Deegan to cross for Byrne to side-foot home at the near post.
