Broadfoot hoping to shrug off bad foot
Rangers defender Kirk Broadfoot is battling to overcome a foot injury in time for Sunday’s Old Firm Co-operative Insurance Cup final at Hampden.
Nacho Novo has been passed fit, having returned to training earlier this week following more than a month out with an ankle problem.
Striker Kris Boyd‘s inclusion remains a doubt after he had to apologise to manager Walter Smith after his poor attitude in Sunday‘s Homecoming Scottish Cup win over Hamilton led to him being sent home from training on Monday.
Stopper Madjid Bougherra, who limped off after sustaining a kick to the calf against Hamilton, did not train today but is expected to be fit.
Pedro Mendes and Lee McCulloch, who both returned against Accies after spells out, are also fine which leaves Kevin Thomson as the only absentee.
Provisional squad: McGregor, Broadfoot, Whittaker, Bougherra, Edu, Weir, Papac, Davis, Mendes, McCulloch, Ferguson, Niguez, Lafferty, Miller, Boyd, Novo, Alexander, Beasley, Fleck.
