Milan flattered by Becks
AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti admits the club is flattered by David Beckham’s claim that staying with the Serie A side is “a dream”.
The England international arrived in Italy in January in what was largely regarded as a publicity stunt by the club but he has exceeded all expectations.
Now he has agreed a deal to stay at the San Siro until the end of June when he will return to the Los Angeles Galaxy.
“I’m grateful to both clubs for allowing this dream to come true,” Beckham said in a statement posted on www.gazzetta.it.
And that sentiment has impressed Ancelotti.
“He has said something important,” the Milan boss said. “It gives us at Milan a lot of satisfaction for a player of his stature and popularity to say such a thing.”
