Two injury worries for O'Neill

Shamrock Rovers travel to the Carlisle Grounds tonight to take on Bray Wanderers in this season’s League of Ireland Premier Division opener (kick-off 7.45pm).

Recent arrival Greg Cameron and last year’s Player of the Year Darragh Maguire are the only injury worries for the Hoops ahead of the season-opener.

Hoops boss Michael O’Neill said: “Greg has a slight groin problem, which makes him doubtful. Darragh’s just returned to training this week so it’s probably too early for him to feature.”

He added: “Obviously this is my first competitive fixture as manager of Shamrock Rovers, so I’m really looking forward to it and to the season ahead – especially with the club’s move to Tallaght Stadium.”

Wanderers boss Eddie Gormley has a full squad to choose from for the visit of the Hoops.

Gormley said: "I realise it will be a difficult season for us and other sides, but I'm looking forward to getting the ball rolling.

"I am happy that I have an honest bunch of players who will give me 100% and if we can get good performances week in week out we should be okay.

“It’s a nice game to start off with, there should be a big crowd and a good atmosphere and everybody here is looking forward to it.”
