Knee operation keeps Fagan out

Hull forward Craig Fagan faces a short spell on the sidelines after undergoing minor knee surgery.

Fagan, who has already missed three months of the season with a broken leg, will sit out at least the next two games.

Hull face Tottenham in the Barclays Premier League on Monday with Sheffield United visiting in an FA Cup fifth-round replay three days later.

The news on Fagan – who could be back in contention to face Blackburn a week on Sunday – comes just a day after record signing Jimmy Bullard was ruled out for the rest of the season with a serious knee injury.

Manager Phil Brown said: “Fortunately for us it was not that major and hopefully Craig will be back on the training ground on Monday or Tuesday next week.”

Striker Daniel Cousin is available again recovering from his own minor knee operation while captain Ian Ashbee has overcome a calf problem.

Kevin Kilbane returns to face Spurs after being cup-tied for last week’s trip to Bramall Lane but midfielder Ryan France (thigh) is doubtful.

Matt Duke is set to be restored in goal ahead of Boaz Myhill.

Provisional squad: Duke, Ricketts, Turner, Gardner, Dawson, Kilbane, Ashbee, Zayatte, Mendy, Geovanni, Folan, Barmby, Halmosi, Marney, Featherstone, Doyle, France, Garcia, Manucho, Myhill.
