Chris Hughton could call for back-up while leading Newcastle in Joe Kinnear’s absence.

Magpies manager Kinnear underwent heart surgery last week and must rest for at least eight weeks, leaving Hughton and Colin Calderwood, the former Nottingham Forest boss, in charge of the first team.
