Barry reveals depth of Villa respect

Gareth Barry insisted he never contemplated becoming a trouble-maker to engineer a move away from Aston Villa because of his “respect” for manager Martin O’Neill and the midlands club.

Barry was initially distraught after failing to complete an £18m switch to Liverpool last summer after the Reds did not meet Villa’s asking price.
