Keane looks to rugby team for inspiration

Robbie Keane has said that the exploits of the Irish rugby team last weekend will provide the inspiration for the Republic to beat Georgia tomorrow.

Ireland defeated France by 30 points to 21 in the 6 Nations Championship, and Keane hopes his team can emulate them in their World Cup qualifying Group Eight tie, which is also at Croke Park.

“I love playing for Ireland,” said the Tottenham captain. “Playing international football is totally different level.”

He sounded a cautious note however, warning that he has yet to reach full match fitness after his stop-start spell at Liverpool.

“Playing 90 minutes (for Spurs against Arsenal) was great,” he said. “But I am lacking a bit of match fitness.”
