Jo heads for Everton

Everton have agreed a deal to loan Brazilian striker Jo from Manchester City until the end of the season.

Manager David Moyes tried to sign the player in the summer from CSKA Moscow but was outmuscled by Manchester City’s cash, with the Eastlands club securing the player for £19million.

But Jo has made little impact with City, scoring three times in 18 games, and will now join Everton on loan until the end of the season.

There is no agreement that will see the deal becoming a permanent one, with Everton unable to match the sort of money City would want back.

Jo cannot play on Wednesday in the FA Cup replay against Liverpool because his last appearance for City was in their cup exit to Nottingham Forest. Jo is expected to make his debut for the Toffees on Saturday against Bolton.
