Blues appeal against Lampard red card

Chelsea have appealed against the red card received by Frank Lampard during yesterday’s 2-0 defeat by Liverpool, the Football Association confirmed today.

Lampard was dismissed in the 60th minute by referee Mike Riley even though TV replays showed the Chelsea player got to the ball first ahead of Reds midfielder Xabi Alonso.
