Savio cleared for Hammers bow

West Ham’s new signing Savio Nsereko has been given international clearance to play in the Hammers’ Barclays Premier League clash with Hull at Upton Park tonight.

Savio joined from Italian side Brescia in a deal believed to be in the region of £9m yesterday but the club had to apply for international clearance before they could field the 19-year-old in tonight’s match.

A statement released on the club’s official website read: “The club was informed on Wednesday afternoon that international clearance had been granted by the English and Italian FAs.”
