The Commercial Court has adjourned until next week its hearing into an application by Drogheda United to take the club out of examinership protection.

The court was told this afternoon that the club had secured agreement to pay off all its creditors, and that once this is done it will be in a position to recommence operations.

€264,000 has been fund-raised over the past three months to discharge the club’s debts.

Speaking outside the court, Drogheda United spokesman Terry Collins said he was confident the club would soon be back in business.
