Gers handed Papac boost
Rangers today won their appeal over Sasa Papac’s red card in their 3-1 Clydesdale Bank Premier League win against Falkirk.
After examining video of the incident, referee Willie Collum decided Papac’s 77th-minute challenge on Bairns substitute Mark Stewart did not amount to serious foul play.
The matter will now be referred to a Scottish Football Association review panel, who will decide if a yellow card should be issued instead.
But, regardless of the outcome, Papac will not breach the disciplinary points threshold and will not serve a suspension.
