Loovens backs Boruc
Celtic defender Glenn Loovens has given his backing to Artur Boruc despite another high-profile blunder by the goalkeeper.
Boruc gifted Dundee the opening goal in Saturday’s Homecoming Scottish Cup tie before Celtic eventually won the game 2-1.
The Polish keeper has been responsible for a number of errors recently but Loovens claims he should not be dropped from the team.
He said: “Should he be rested? For the defence it’s important that there is a goalkeeper behind you who you know.
“He has had a few bad moments lately but he is a still a great keeper, so give him the benefit of the doubt.
“I think he should stay in the team, of course. He has proved again and again he is a great goalkeeper.”
