Given set for Magpies start
Newcastle goalkeeper Shay Given will play in tomorrow’s FA Cup third-round tie at Hull after manager Joe Kinnear insisted he will not be sold.
Kinnear has confirmed the 32-year-old will be in the starting line-up, and he is likely to be joined by defender Sebastien Bassong after he completed his one-match ban.
Nicky Butt, who was forced out of Sunday’s 5-1 home defeat by Liverpool with cramp, and Jose Enrique (calf) have a chance of making the game at the KC Stadium, but the Magpies otherwise
have a lengthy casualty list. Habib Beye (ankle) could be sidelined for 12 weeks, while Claudio
Cacapa and Joey Barton (both knee), Obafemi Martins, Mark Viduka (groin), Shola Ameobi (hamstring), Alan Smith (foot) and Ignacio Gonzalez (Achilles) are all out.
Provisional squad: Given, Harper, Enrique, N’Zogbia, Bassong, Coloccini, Taylor, Edgar, Butt, Guthrie, Duff, Jonas, Geremi, Owen, Carroll, Xisco, LuaLua.
