Lee: No doubts over Keane quality
Sammy Lee hailed Robbie Keane’s “immense” contribution to Liverpool after the striker’s double against Bolton, which ensured the Reds will be Barclays Premier League leaders when they face Newcastle tomorrow.
The Irishman has finally produced the form to justify his £20m price tag after weeks of debate about his quality and even suitability to Liverpool’s style.
Keane followed up his stunning equaliser at Arsenal last weekend with two second-half goals in four minutes to destroy an outplayed Bolton outfit, who had fallen behind to Albert Riera’s strike.
And Liverpool assistant boss Lee insisted there had never been any doubts among Anfield officials over Keane’s quality.
The recent goals have taken the 28-year-old’s tally to seven for the season.
Lee said: “We have had no doubts in Robbie’s ability or his work-rate, and what he adds to this club is immense.”
