The Nigeria international suffered a groin injury moments before scoring his side’s second goal in the 3-0 win at Portsmouth last weekend, and manager Joe Kinnear will give him until the last moment to prove his fitness.

Joey Barton (knee), Alan Smith (foot) and Igancio Gonzalez (Achilles) are still out.
