Fahey helps St Pat's to victory
St. Patrick's Athletic 2 Derry City 1
Keith Fahey thrilled the Inchicore faithful on what was surely his last home game for the club with a superbly executed goal, before making the other, as St. Patrick's rubberstamped second place in the table.
Almost certain to move across channel in January, Fahey scored for the second match running on 38 minutes; slaloming in from the right to drill a shot to the corner of net off his weaker left foot with the help of a deflection.
Fahey then won a handball off Mark McChrystal on 83 minutes to afford Mark Quigley the chance to score from the penalty spot which he duly took.
Derry got a consolation goal three minutes into stoppage time when substitute Mark Farren tapped home after keeper Barry Ryan could only parry Clive Delaney's header from a Kevin Deery corner.
