Denis Behan came close for Cork while Danny Ventre had a long-range shot tipped over by Mark McNulty at the other end in a lively first half.

Sligo had perhaps the best chance of the match on 84 minutes, but McNulty was equal to Rafael Cretaro's close-range shot.
