Brown to miss Parkhead clash

Wes Brown seems unlikely to figure for Manchester United in their Champions League encounter with Celtic at Parkhead tomorrow.

Brown had been pencilled in by Sir Alex Ferguson for the all-British Group E encounter, but after missing United’s last two games with an ankle injury he was not at training this morning either.

It means Gary Neville and Rafael Da Silva will contest the right-back slot in a Red Devils squad also lacking injured pair Owen Hargreaves and Paul Scholes.

Angolan striker Manucho was not expected to make the trip north either this afternoon but 19-year-old reserve team skipper James Chester has been drafted into Ferguson’s squad.
