Pat's could be missing eight for Cobh clash

St Patrick’s Athletic will be hoping to keep the title race alive when they entertain Cobh Ramblers at Richmond Park tonight, kick-off 7.45pm.

Cobh will also go into the game full of confidence after last weekend’s impressive victory over Shamrock Rovers.

Ramblers' Conor Meade is suspended, while Kieran O'Reilly is out injured.

Daryl Kavanagh is a doubtful starter for Stephen Henderson's side.

St Pat’s will be missing a number of key players including Dessie Byrne who has a recurrence of a hamstring injury and Damien Lynch who is ruled out with an ankle injury.

Derek O’Brien is suspended, while David Partridge is ruled out with a shoulder injury.

Bobby Ryan is struggling with a knee injury, while Stephen Paisley and Gary O’Neill both have groin strains.

John Murphy is also missing for boss John McDonnell due to an ongoing back injury.

McDonnell said: "Cobh are coming here on the back of a good win against Rovers so it will be difficult test for us.

"The last two games against Cobh this season have been very tight with both ending in narrow wins for Pats.

"We’ve been hit by a lot of injuries but we’ve had four recovery days since our last match and while it’s not our strongest side it’s the best team available to us.

"It’s our next game and it gives us the chance to get three more points."
