Bhoys hold slender half-time lead

A Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink strike after 14 minutes gave Celtic the half-time lead over Aberdeen in their Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash at Parkhead.

After a surging run by Georgios Samaras had upset the Dons defence, the Holland striker took a Scott Brown pass before slotting the ball past Jamie Langfield.

Hoops’ midfielder Marc Crosas cleared a Zander Diamond header off the line as the Pittodrie side fought back but only Celtic’s slackness in front of goal kept their advantage down to one goal.
