Unstoppable Bohs seal 6-1 win

Wayside Celtic 1 Bohemians 6

Jason Byrne scored twice as double-chasing Bohemians eased into the semi-final of the FAI Ford Cup.

Leinster Senior League minnows Wayside had no answer once John Paul Kelly got on the end of skipper Owen Heary's cross to shoot past Robbie O'Dowd to give them a 13th minute lead.

Byrne doubled that lead six minutes later when dinking the ball over O'Dowd from Kelly's cross.

Defender Jason McGuinness out-jumped O'Dowd to flick home a Mark Rossiter free-kick four minutes into the second half.

Alan Sharkey then pulled down Kelly inside the area within a further three minutes with Byrne slotting home his second of the game from the penalty spot to make it 4-0.

Ian Callaghan got Wayside's consolation goal on the hour mark when punishing poor defending to shoot past Brian Murphy.

But Neale Fenn restored Bohs' four goal lead on 78 minutes when collecting a throw before squeezing a shot home from a tight angle.

Substitute Glen Crowe got in on the act to add the sixth nine minutes from time with a deflected shot following Gary Deegan's pass.
