City Council backs Keegan

Kevin Keegan was given the backing of his city council in the ongoing discussions about his future as Newcastle manager.

As negotiations were understood to be continuing between Keegan and the club’s billionaire owner Mike Ashley, councillors unanimously passed a motion calling for an end to the “confusion” and said they regretted the bad publicity caused.
