Henrik Larsson has dismissed talk of a deadline-day transfer to the Premier League.

Everton and West Ham were linked with a move for the former Celtic, Barcelona and Manchester United striker but Larsson insists he has no plans to leave Helsingborg.

Larsson, 36, told Swedish newspaper Expressen: “I will not go anywhere. It has never been my intention to leave.”

The player’s agent Rob Jansen confirmed his client was happy in his native Sweden.

“There was interest from England but Henrik has decided to stay with Helsingborg and the club are now happy to keep him,” said Jansen.

“He’s out of contract in January and available on a free transfer, so will pick up his career from there.”
