Debt-ridden Cork City granted examinership
Cork City have been granted examinership by the High Court as the club struggles to overcome its financial problems.
The Leesiders are believed to have run up debts of around €1.3m.
Cork have recently sold David Meyler to Sunderland in an effort to raise cash and are also due to sell Dave Mooney to Reading for €400,000.
Kieran McCarthy, the man who helped save Shamrock Rovers from collapse in 2005, has been appointed interim examiner to help clear Cork's debts and rescue the club from meltdown.
