McGinn steers Derry to win at Cobh

Niall McGinn scored the opener and made the second goal to get Derry back to winning ways at bottom-of-the-table Cobh.

Derry survived an eighth minute scare when Ger Doherty did well to save a shot from Daryl Kavanagh from John Meade's set-up.

McGinn had a couple of chances midway through the first half, first shooting off keeper James McCarthy and then firing wide.

But the Candystripes' winger made amends with the first goal of the night in the 67th minute when his shot deflected off team-mate Clive Delaney to beat McCarthy.

McGinn then put over the cross for Gareth McGlynn to rifle into the top corner of the net for the second, clinching, goal on 82 minutes.

Sammy Morrow added the third goal from Kevin McHugh's cross in the final minute.
