Skrtel closing in on recovery

Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel should have recovered from a groin strain in time for the first leg of the club’s Champions League third qualifying round tie next week.

The dates for the tie with Belgian side Standard Liege have now been finalised, with Liverpool playing the away leg next Wednesday, August 13, and the return at Anfield on August 27.
