Hoops weather Sligo storm to earn points
Shamrock Rovers 1 Sligo Rovers 0
Padraig Amond scored for the third match in a row, but it was goalkeeper Barry Murphy who was the Shamrock Rovers' hero.
Murphy made stunning saves from Chris Butler and Danny Ventre in the first half, before excelling again early in the second to deprive Romu Boco.
But Sligo's dominance counted for nothing as the Hoops came more into the game late on to snatch their winner on 68 minutes.
Danny O'Connor out-jumped Sligo keeper Richard Brush from Sean O'Connor's pass to cross from a tight angle for Amond to tap in the easiest of his six goals this season.
