Scolari builds backroom staff

New Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari is set to bring in former colleague Carlos Pracidelli as the club’s new goalkeeping coach.

Scolari starts his new job at Stamford Bridge next Tuesday but is clearly busy assembling his backroom staff.

He has already decided to bring Flavio Teixeira and Darlan Schneider – his assistant and fitness coach respectively at Portugal – to London.

Now Pracidelli, who worked with Scolari during his time in charge of Brazilian side Palmeiras and when he won the World Cup with the national team in 2002, will join him once more.

“Immediately I accepted because I know how he works,” said Pracidelli. “My club Palmeiras know this is a rare opportunity and are releasing me without any resentment.”
