Kenny upbeat despite McCourt departure

Derry City and St Patrick's Athletic go head to head in tonight's eircom League of Ireland Premier Division clash at the Brandywell, kick-off 7.45pm.

With Pat McCourt signing for Celtic during the week, City boss Stephen Kenny will be anxious for the transfer window to open next week to bolster his squad.

Kenny must plan without Darren Quigley, who is out with a hand injury, and Gareth McGlynn who has a knee injury.

Kenny said: "St Pat's have quality players so it has the makings of an open game, but our lads deserve credit for a good victory last week at Drogheda, a well-earned three points and we need another strong performance in what is an important week."

Saints travel to the Brandywell without Joe O'Cearuill, David Partridge and Michael Keane who are all out injured.

Stephen Paisley returns to the Saints squad alongside Jamie Harris and Damien Lynch.
