Monaghan surprise Students in tight FAI Cup encounter

Robbie Collins' first-half winner stunned UCD at the UCD Bowl to put the struggling First Division side into the fourth round of the FAI Cup.

Collins struck for the only goal of this third round replay on 15 minutes when dispossessing Brian King to race on and crack a low drive to the corner of Matt Gregg's net.

UCD ran the rest of the game and Alan McNally missed a sitter while Monaghan skipper Don Tierney cleared off the line from Derek Doyle as Monaghan held out for a big win.
