Little moves to Pompey

Reading have confirmed that winger Glen Little has signed for Premier League side Portsmouth on a one-year contract.

The 32-year-old missed the majority of last season with an Achilles injury but was offered a new deal by the relegated Royals.

However, Pompey boss Harry Redknapp has made a surprise move for the winger and he has signed a 12-month deal at Fratton Park.

Reading director of football Nick Hammond told the club’s official website, www.readingfc.co.uk: “We offered Glen a new contract but it appears the lure of the Premier League and European football proved too strong.”

Little made just two appearances in the top flight last season but played over 100 times for Steve Coppell’s side in total after joining for free from Burnley in 2004.
