Jo could get City go-ahead

The advisor of CSKA Moscow striker Jo is working on a “solution” that would free the player up to join Manchester City, it was revealed today.

The anticipated transfer has been thrown into doubt because of new Barclays Premier League rules which state third-party ownership is not allowed.

Jo comes into the category, leaving City in a dilemma as new manager Mark Hughes is keen to bring the Brazilian to Eastlands.

So concerned are the club that executive chairman Garry Cook contacted league chairman Dave Richards for clarification.

City and Hughes remain keen to buy him and are anxious for the matter to be resolved as is Jo’s advisor Kia Joorabchian.

A spokesman for Joorabchian said: “Kia is aware of the change of rules with regard to third-party ownership.

“He is working on a solution that will be suitable to the Premier League and Manchester City.”
