Arsenal striker Carlos Vela believes his international team-mate Giovani Dos Santos will use his move to Tottenham as a stepping stone to greater things.

Vela, who has yet to appear for the Gunners after spending the last two seasons on loan at Celta Vigo, Salamanca and Osasuna in Spain, came to prominence alongside Giovani when the two spearheaded Mexico’s strikeforce in the country’s Under-17 World Cup triumph in 2005.
