Mark Hughes’ Manchester United connection will not be an issue should he decide to succeed Sven-Goran Eriksson at Manchester City.

Providing compensation can be agreed, Hughes is expected to hold talks with City over the next couple of days, with speculation mounting that he will be offered the job.
