Galway desperate for victory
Galway United will be desperate for a victory to keep them in touch with the teams at the bottom of the table when they entertain St Patrick’s Athletic at Terryland Park tonight, kick-off 7.45pm.
United captain John Fitzgerald is a doubt after he was substituted against Cobh with a back injury.
Defender Marc McCulloch will miss out due to suspension while Alan Keane, Ciaran Foley and Daryl Robson all remain sidelined.
Boss Jeff Kenna, angry with his side's defeat against Cobh on Monday, is hoping to see a big improvement against Pat's.
He said: "We got caught cold with the early goal and never really showed the fighting spirit required.
"The lads know that our home form needs to dramatically improve and hopefully we will see this improvement against Pats."
Saints travel to the west with a strong squad but Joe O'Cearuill is still unavailable through injury.
And further bad news for St Pat's boss Johnny McDonnell is that star midfielder Keith Fahey picked up an injury against Bohs on Tuesday and is unlikely to travel.
Stephen Paisley, John Frost and Michael Keane are also ruled out for the Inchicore club.
